Can UN Bulk Bags Contain All Dangerous Goods?
Can UN bulk bags contain dangerous goods?
Yes, but only part of it, not all dangerous goods can be packed by UN bags.
FIBCs are flexible medium-sized bulk containers. According to GB19434-2009 "Specifications for the Inspection of Dangerous Goods Medium-sized Bulk Containers", the following goods are not allowed to be shipped by using bulk container bags.
1) Items with explosion hazard, such as fireworks and firecrackers;
2) Flammable liquids, such as gasoline and kerosene;
3) Dangerous goods with packing grade I, such as rocket warheads, black powder, etc.;
4) Solid dangerous goods with melting point equal to or lower than 45 degrees;
5) The United Nations "Recommendation on the Transport of Dangerous Goods" (15th revised edition) stipulates that dangerous goods in bags cannot be used;
6) Solid dangerous goods with steam pressure exceeding 10kPa at 50°C.
Therefore, in addition to the above goods, all other goods can be shipped in bulk bags. Having said that, you still don't know whether your goods can be shipped in bulk bags.
Then you can check GB 12268-2012 "Dangerous Goods List".
