Which of the following two bulk bag suppliers would you choose?
As a distributor or end user of FIBC, a good manufacturer greatly affects the quality of the product. As a distributor, much of the added value comes from the relationship with the manufacturer and our ability to properly review them and the products they ship. These manufacturers not only make their own bags, they also conduct quality assurance and product testing on site before the bags are shipped, which is an extremely important part of the procurement process.
Most importantly, the selection of high-quality suppliers is extremely important to provide high-quality FIBC at an affordable price, but not all suppliers are equal.
The Speedsters
The goal of these suppliers is to enter the market with bag supply as soon as possible. These operations often lack the most basic certification and inspection standards. These suppliers are eager to get to the market, but ignore some of the most critical aspects of quality manufacturing, and often scramble to upgrade their operations to code after production begins.
Ultimately (and perhaps most importantly), this trend to grab the market shows the quality of the bags they produce and their general knowledge of the product and the bulk bag industry. They are usually unable to answer the most basic questions about the functions of their facilities and the different building schemes of industry standards, and their products are of poor quality.
"Do the right thing" operation
The approach you see from "do the right thing" is no different from the suppliers mentioned above. These vendors(manufacturers) focus on compliance early (and often before) when they enter the market. They ensure that they have all the certificates and inspection standards that the dealers seek. Also focus on industry knowledge. These suppliers know all the information about bulk bag construction, fabric and material types, food grade and special bags, etc., and will display it during the audit process.
